Description: 7800-foot elevation. A small 6-site campground located in aspen
trees 3 miles from Fish Lake. This area has some of the best fall
color viewing on the mountain. This campground is close to the Kiger
Gorge Overlook, where you can often see one of the most genetically
pure strains of wild mustangs in the world and the resident herd of
bighorn sheep.



The road in is also great for mountain biking. Other attractions nearby include
birdwatching at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and rockhounding at
the Diamond Craters lava beds. Fees are charged from April-October.
All fees collected are returned to the site for improvements,
facility maintenance, and visitor services as part of the Pilot Fee
Demonstration Program.

Notes: Maximum RV length is 53 feet. No firewood collecting is allowed in developed campgrounds. Pets must be kept on a leash in the campground at all times.An RV dump station is at the Steen Mountain resort, 0.5 mile away.
